I’m passionate about human potential and performance. We are fascinating people who are capable of incredible things and I’ve spent the last 10 years working, living and interacting with people from all walks of life. Lets face it, we live in an incredible generation in relation to technology, engineering, medical science, relationships (to name a few) and I strongly believe that we can achieve more. I meet a lot of people who talk about and look up to those, past and present, who have achieved greatness on some level; yet many of the same people I meet and engage with ‘wish’ that could be them and that they could achieve more.
My challenge to them is that you only ‘wish’ when you blow out the candles on a birthday cake or you’re ‘lucky’ enough to get a wish-bone in your food. I’ve yet to meet anyone who achieved anything of any greatness or substance for what they simply ‘wished’ for. The people that you see and hear about who achieve outstanding results in their lives are the people who set goals, focus on the outcome and commit to action - whatever it takes! And do you know what the great thing is – this is no secret recipe reserved only for the chosen few! It is available to us all if we know where to look. I’d encourage anyone to read about how Lance Armstrong beat cancer to win the most physical, grueling sporting event on the planet 7-times over or Notes from a Friend by Anthony Robbins if you are looking for evidence of people who have performed to their potential. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been goal focused and action orientated. During this time I’ve had the pleasure of working for large, international companies with thousands of people across multiple continents. I’ve managed mission critical multi-million pound projects and stepped up to roles that people said ‘could never be done’. I also run my own business providing specialist change management services which is now my platform to take coaching into the corporate environment. I’ve learnt from the best (and the worst) and continue to do so on a daily basis. Whilst fulfilling my career goals, I’ve also made time to graduate with an Honours Degree in Business and hold Practitioner Level Accreditation in Project, Programme and Risk Management. Teams and colleagues that I have met along the way now form part of my professional and personal networks and we offer encouragement and support to each and one another along the way. In my spare time, you’ll find me in the gym, out running or taking part in anything which involves the outdoors and sometimes adrenaline. My most recent adventures have involved scuba diving, white water rafting, sky-diving and learning to climb – all fears that I had to overcome but it feels great having got there! So back to my real passion – human potential and performance. I invest in my own personal and professional development on a daily basis in some capacity by reading, learning and researching in this field. I’ve taken action to formalise my learnings and experience by enrolling on The Coaching Academy’s Protege programme in 2009 so that I can bring the freshest tools and techniques to my clients and underpin my existing skills and knowledge. This is a fantastic forum for learning and developing new skills in the field and have plans to develop new and exciting facets to my coaching expertise. I’ve heard the phrase ‘teams win games’ many times and that’s how I look at my coaching relationships. We form a team and I offer support, reflection and challenge in an open, trusting and confidential environment.
